‘ An obsessed alcoholic and his reluctant grandson search the Mourne Mountains for the fabled Banshee.’

No Such Thing is a folk-horror meets family-drama short film that explores grief, obsession, and alcoholism. It centres on a paternal relationship at it’s breaking point, delivering an emotional two-hander drama in the setting of a traditional ‘forest-horror’ flick.

It’s inspired by Peter’s late grandfather and the ghost stories he would tell him as a child, with none being more exciting than the mythical banshee. This Irish urban legend acts as a backdrop to what unravels into a story that focuses less on thrill and more on intimacy.

It was funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, and since it’s premiere at the preistigious Foyle Film Festival, it has experienced an impressive festival run, including recieving award nominations at both BAFTA-accredited Belfast Film Fesival and Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. It is currently being shopped to short film broadcasters.
