‘ When a bad smell starts leaking from his bedroom, two friends work up the courage to check on their probably dead roommate.’
Good Grief is a satirical dark-comedy inspired by sitcoms like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Much of the humour centres on the duo convincing themselves that they’re morally good people, despite their attitude indicating the opposite.
The film is split up into the five stages of grief, but it quickly becomes apparent that the two aren’t grieving over the loss of their roommate, but rather the prospect that they will have to see a dead body. All in all, they weren’t very fond of him.
It began as an independent passion project created during the COVID lockdown, but went on to have a noteworthy festival run, including screenings at BAFTA and IFTA affiliates IndieCork Film Festival and the Richard Harris International Film Festival.
